Hot lines counselors were told of range of SOGI problems

The counselors asked questions the callers turn to them with and told that SOGI information was important for all crisis counseling lines. For example, the callers often ask about sexual orientation on the children’s line because our country doesn’t have sexual education as such and kids often can ask question that embarrass adults only calling to phone counselor. Adult callers in their turn also often don’t know why some gender changes may happen to them, whether it is normal, and how it can be explained to others because of low level of gender knowledge.

Gay House Vinnytsia taught how to communicate with the police

People often forget their rights in the moment of crisis and risk to found themselves in unpleasant or even dangerous situations. Having basic information about rules of communication with the police is necessary, especially minding that law enforcers often violate LGBT rights. The participants of the training were reminded of when and how long the police have rights to detain people, of rules of personal search and documents check.

The second part took place by Zoloti Vorota subway station where the activists treated people to tea, cookies and candies. “People noticed us, they smiled, took photos on smartphones but not many of them chose to have a hot drink,” the activists tell. Those who came closer expressed their support and shared their positive emotions and impressions.

He hosted a range of workshops and lectures with the theme of Body-City-Loneliness. “You have to touch something in order to understand it. In Kyiv I touched stories and bodies of others. I didn’t expect this audience to be so sincere – everyone told the story of their body during the presentation. It was a small group but it united us and made us so close that I felt everyone and was ready to hug them and accept them in my life,” Misha Badasyan told about the workshop in Kyiv.

Days of women’s health in Gay House With Boys Zaporizhia

People don’t often give due regard to women’s health of lesbians and bisexual women. There is an illusion of safety of women sex and STD risk being close to nothing, and reproductive health related diseases are often forgotten completely. People can learn about importance and necessity of disease prophylactic, get primary theoretical training and chance to talk to the specialists. A friendly breast physician will host the next workshop.
